"MAN POWER CRUNCH HITS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY"

“Innovation is the catalyst to growth”,  by the beginning of 21st century one of the charges levied at construction industry of India was that it has poor record of innovation as compared to manufacturing industries like electronics and automobiles although gradually we have seen its acquittal. The growth rate of this industry is about 12% annually in an economy that ranks second among the fastest growing economies of the world. Recent newspapers were flooded with an article that quotes “Man power crunch hits construction industry” and this alarming issue wants us to focus on the innovative ideas that deal with the management of the human resources at par with the rising demands. Man power is an important asset of construction industry and based on country’s economic growth about 58.28 million persons would be employed in the infrastructure section by 2022 and as of now our country is going through labour crisis of skilled and unskilled as well. Present work force is not matching with the growing demands and delayed or stalled projects due to shortage of labours can be easily seen around. Investments in manpower development in the building industry of most developing nations have been the failure of numerous National plans and development strategies adopted by various countries and international lending institutions. As a consequence, most of these nations are experiencing serious human resource constraints in their construction industries. The review paper looks at problems being faced by the industry because of  labour crisis and the possibilities of creating new human resource capacity by stabilizing the construction environment and re-orienting existing trainings.

WAVES...

Wondering about the waves of sea.
why a river flows fine and ocean is waving by line??

A river is aware of its beginning and end
But how pity,a sea never knows where it goes and where is its vent!!

Yet it is so eager..certainly at true discomfort that its inconstancy is visible at the shore
so is the nature of me and you for sure,
curious but only till unexplored carries along with it,
what is and what not to under the mist.

When we get to know everything,
then waiting begins.
waiting for what?
its nothing but a 'Pause'.

Waiting for a pause,
No other clause.
Somewhere lies the cause,
Neither too old nor too cold.
Just like a dry cloud,
eager to grasp moisture loud.

Grass is getting brown in the sunshine,
grey is what we all go by end of our time.
Changes occur and perish,
who is left out to cherish?
Waiting for a pause,
no other clause.

It is confusing,
as does not rhyme.
Still i feel it is a little refined,
don't know why so,
but i know the word is 'improperly defined'.
probably it is me,the dwindling thoughts of mine,
still it can be night, can be day,
or just the tricky time.
That winks,laughs and certainly smiles.

Conservation in day to day life..!

Need of the hour is to conserve petroleum and gas by its judicious use and protection of environment. In house conservation methods are installation of waste heat recovery systems, utilization of non-conventional energy resources and close monitoring of conservation efforts. It also comprises replacement of low efficiency boilers, installation of heat exchangers, economizers and co-generation equipment, adoption of improved house keeping practices and vapour recovery system.
At the domestic level we as an individual can take steps like usage of wide bottom vessel while cooking, after taking out the food from refrigerator leaving it to be at room temperature then there after heating, soak cereals before cooking and use just enough water, reduce flame as it starts boiling, cookers with separators save fuel, eating together to avoid rapid warming, lighting of flame once each and every preparation is made before hand, solar water heaters to heat water, solar cookers, set up of gobar gas plant at rural areas, electric hot plates,,nutan hurricane lanterns by indian oil for better illumination and fuel conservation or electric lamp or solar lanterns can also be used.
While travelling if certain enlisted points are kept in mind then we can avoid wastage of oil.First of all one must curtail wasteful driving, use of public transport, using two wheeler if satisfactory and pool vehicles, turn off the engine at signals, purchasing fuel efficient vehicles, checking injector spark plug, correct tyre pressure, regreasing and renewal of lubricant for engine and gear boxes, using quality lubricants, proper driving habits and emission control check.
By the oil industries there have been various awareness campaigns where everytime they introduce some glow signs, posters.Information like subsidies loans for buses, furnaces, efficient boilers by OIDB,alternate energy sources, advantages of solar heaters and cookers,lanterns,gobar-gas plants etc is also circulated in general. For example in district solan,sultanpur,jaisalmer-'nutan' fuel efficient stove is used on a large scale. The only option left out with us is to conserve today because tomorrow is going to be late.
A simple concept lets us know that demand is directly proportional to supply. In the year 1800 there were just 1 billion users which increased to 6.5 billion in year 2000 and for the year 2050 it is expected to be around 8-12 billion. Here a simpler concept tells us that these resources are supposed to end up in upcoming 25 years!!!
The gas engines we have used in our cars in the past century have been horribly inefficient, only one-third of the total energy in gallon of gas provides motive power. The rest is lost as heat in the cooling systems or out of the tail-pipe.
There are several artificial methods to produce oil and gas some of them are thermal conversion process,bio-mass catalytic process, plasma glassification etc.We can convert billion of tons of waste products and garbage produced every year into oil and gasoline products rather than burying them into ground. It will provide enough to meet our current and near future needs.Other forms of materials include agricultural wastes, seewage sludge, millions of old tyres, fast growing renewable junk crops, algae and plastics.
By using vehicles with fuel economies at reasonable cost we could raise the number of vehicles four times the existing data.We could trade oil dependence for lithium dependence using hybrid cars.Blolivia has half the known reserves of lithium in the world and Afghanistan may have a lot as well.
A large amount of energy is spent for the transportation of produced food. Methods to produce abundant food closer to urban center where it is needed will reduce our fuel need in that very concern. Methods like critical farming or aquaponics can be adopted.Fuel shortage in days to come can be a reason of grid-lock,famine,war and pestilence.
Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land sooner it is achieved more promising our future becomes.

THE NAME

The name..stands for identity,
integrity,all at the same..!
It's lame and in vane when disgraces its tame,
and it is "the name".

Is a blame when it messes up with a flame,
and never a shame when flaunts fame,
and it is "the name".

critical, probable and logical when it claims,
for an existence that seems so plain.
It is nothing during a child's play,
but everything when worldly's stare!

It can be anything suited the dismay,
versatile as he life we have,
Yes it is never in vane,
Though it is always just a name.

"TECHNOLOGY" AND "HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS"

There is a distinct difference between connectivity or communication and the "human relationships".Though both are interdependent but unlike communication emotions form the backbone of any human relationship and thanks to this modern technology,we have started dealing with the most intense thing i.e emotions superficially.
Today our social skills are decreasing and thereby relationships degrading.Technology has "alienated" us.Instead of having quality time with family or the people around computers, television or cellphone keeps us occupied. It is a one on one interaction with someone who is not really there, something that cannot give us human response even though personified. There is straining of relationships due to technology.
"Proper use of technology",it is out of question these days.We are already behaving as a slave to technology, one who is obedient and loyal to its master disregarding every other aspect of its life.
Can a smiley always makes us smile when we feel low or any other high-tech provision can provide us with the comfort of mothers lap.Though the world is shrinking but we are being dragged far away from the people who are truly significant for us.Get off this materialistic approach. For example spend half an hour with your pet rather than taming them on "petville".Difference could be surely felt.Human relationships is not just limited to man to man terms but it is with every living being around it.
Kids are so stuck up to gadgets these days ironically "they" are running out of time after study hours. They dislike moving out to play.Isn't it a loss to fostering human relationships?.There is unawareness of bondage of friendship, sportsman spirit and the real charm of childhood. All of us somewhere miss the time when blackberry and apple were just fruits.
Lack of willingness to think before acting, impatience and disrespectfulness towards one another is prevalent these days.Thank again the technology for this because probably we have started to think that everything around can be restored, deleted and copied, even the people!!.In a broader frame definitely technology is a "blessing in disguise" but in person we have lost the bondage and emotional tie up that used to exist in any relationship with the advancement in technology.
Moving to teacher-student relationships.Strange but true thoughts like teachers should be replaced by teaching aids are in for discussion.Just one question can teaching aids entrust the values and ethics in a student?
If we are really happy then why in the era of modern technology then why the suicidal rates have increased to about 8% i.e maximum in last 15 years in our country?.Phenomenal increase in the cases of mental depression, divorce rates have almost doubled, increment in nuclear families and even social isolation has increased. These are the consequences of loss of the true sense of human relationships.Countries that have experienced faster and greater technological advancement have somewhere almost lost the proper sense of human relationships and now they are turning towards spiritualism for peace. Our striving for survival is only worth when we have peace and harmony in our lives,we are people not pre-programmed devices.Gen Y we should not abbreviate ourselves as WTF i.e wikipedia, twitter and facebook generation because there are loads of other things around that have the potential to make our life better.

we are independent...

"we are independent"..when the country was outraged by the movement against corruption brought up by shri anna hazare ji and finally government has to act in favor of jan lokpal bill i just got  these lines in my mind...but the column was left blank for a long time because although i had the title but i was totally blank about the content to be comprised under it...sometimes i thought of changing the title to are we independent?...as there were many things that could be mentioned under that particular point but again WE ARE INDEPENDENT was the thing my mind got in it...
so we are independent...our country has completed 65 years of independent as we all know....where we were and where we are today that also we all know...but i am going to tell you something that no body knows till now but me...it was a bright day...15th of august 2010,i got up early around 6:30 AM and left for morning walk by 7..school students were rushing towards there school as they have had to celebrate the occasion..flag hoisting national anthem and there after for half of the day auditorium was over to them...dressed in proper uniform with a beautiful smile on there face..
i was getting nostalgic for a while then suddenly i was disturbed by a government vehicle or a car in precise driven madly by the driver...then after a minute or two with same velocity another government owned vehicle..i was wondering that the way they were rushing it was emergency or something like that around...then i was reminded that the flag hoisting and national anthem ceremony timings were supposed to be around that hour and it was the reason of general haste among them...i had a silent laughter..as once i have to wait for hours at a government firm to get my work done because of the lack of punctuality..definitely there is improvement..!
after that i moved ahead and there sweets were being distributed by some upcoming politician to the general crowd nearby local garden...there were some in the crowd whose face described all about their starvation...pity said me to myself!
on the way back to my home there is a girls hostel..on the roof top anthem was being sung...i halted and was on attention for a few seconds but actually not everyone around me was so...the milkman came and threw the packets in those few seconds...girls were giggling because of something in those few seconds...finally it got over..i.e morning walk with slightest of the disgust in my mind..
rest of the day...it was a national holiday so multiplexes, malls and eventful places were packed and yes it was all in patriotic mood by the decorations, songs or the quizzes..plenty of texts and mails to wish each other the auspicious occasion...
yes we are independent...free to take the things the way we want...even to deal with our independence the way we want...we are loving our independence undoubtedly but probably we are not respecting it...the century of struggle by our ancestors is being denied by our such attitude i thought that day..but when the country was one against corruption my mind changed...unity in diversity still exists...govt by the,for the and of the people is valid...pessimism turned towards optimism half a way..JAI HIND!!

DISSIPATION OF ENERGY

Energy is represented by einstein's equation E=mc^2.Avoiding the explaination of the terms used lets discuss the basic factor and the theory of "Energy".Everything around us is having some or the other form of energy in it and creation of energy is due to the motion, change or disturbance within the object.Mathematically or scientifically this concept is explained by genius "Albert Einstein".How about emotional disturbance, variation or dilemma that takes place within homo-sapiens.Basically human beings are the only organisms existing and persisting substantially on this planet that do suffer emotional dilemma at times.

Again getting back to science "the wonderful subject of objects" that states when energy is transferred form one form to   another there is no net dissipation of energy rather it is converted to some or the other form, "LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY".Now let us deal with the human science of emotions, whenever there is a emotional dilemma within a living object or a mere human being then the emotions are transferred from one way to other but there is no net dissipation of emotions.

Hence by evaluating, emphasising and materialising emotions we can certainly prove that"No matter how much you start hating somebody after experiencing love from the bottom of your heart. Here the change of love to hatred is result of emotional dilemma within living object but even after that those emotions are somewhere buried or lost inside a being,as we the are cleverest of the living clan so we can hide it up to the lees but we can not deny the scientifically proven fact that there is just conversion existing on this planet dissipation is impossible. DIFFERENT LOCATIONS...FAINT VISUALIZATIONS...RANDOM EMOTIONS!!

"scene 1:"
Over-bridge of mulund station. It was a noisy place where crowd was never stationary,we were waiting there for announcement of our train to LTT.To my left there was a group of youngsters chit chatting about latest trends, movies etc.As my sight shifted loitering amongst the crowd and passing through "criss-cross"metal wire fencing of the over-bridge ,it was brought at rest at the incompletely laid railway track where 4-5 people were busy aligning the flower "mogra" to form a gajra (jasmine garlands used by Indian women for decorating there hair bun),they hardly exchanged a word with each other and were busy with their work.Crowd was at its usual unrest and the noise was the same, comprising that of footsteps, chattering, announcement of trains etc,i felt a bit uneasy and turned around,my sight was now shifted to "end of that incompletely laid track".The track ended under the concreted shade of a flyover parallel to the railway over-bridge.There were numerous colorful "gatthars" placed under that bridge and the iron track had an abrupt end over there!.
Two elderly ladies were seated on those "gatthars",wearing burka but having there faces disclosed. Also there were two dogs sleeping besides them.By the elderly's gestures i presumed that they were into some conversation, but on a closer glance i found out that the two ladies were dumb as the lips barely exhibited any movement, gestures were the only scope for communication between them.
Just then the arrival of our train was announced and disregarding the temporary halting observations i was again a part of the very same "ABSURD CROWD".

scene 2
I was going through the story "Mulberry tree" by khushwant singh, laying myself at ease on a reserved seat. There was a saint (sadhu baba ji) sharing the next reserved seat of a gentleman on an excuse that he lost his ticket and will be getting off just after three stations. The saint was being an on way fore teller to the gentleman by boasting of his sixth sense and face reading skills,in the meantime narrator of "mulberry tree",who was a true atheist was clutched by the prophetic charm of some "Shani baba".The gentleman on the next seat to me was spell bounded by the saint, they continued with each other and so did i with the story. At the climax of the story narrator realized "shani baba" dealt with his 100 bucks in a very clever manner, narrator was disgusted as shani baba took an advantage of his emotional dilemma. I smiled and turned towards the next seat for current scenario, the gentleman was giving a Rs.50 note to the saint with a broad smile of satisfaction on his face.I burst out into a loud laughter but ended up looking into the pages of book that convinced the gentleman as well as saint that i was no one but a "too lost reader".

scene 3
Don't remember the station's name,i was just peeping out from the train window then.On the platform there were 2 fellows busy with their cellphones, following walk when you talk idea. Both of them took near about 5-6 steps and then a around turn,it was a consistent procedure since last few minutes i was noticing.Coincidentally they turned around at the same time, eyes met and they waved happily to each other. One of the two was about to disconnect his phone call for proper meeting but the other fellow was through his consistent steps so turned around.First one felt offended by this behaviour of his acquaintance. After few seconds other one was about to disconnect for the very same reason that the first one had but expectedly even he got the same response. In all both were offended and continued entertaining their telephonic acquaintances.Surely distances are closer now a days.

scene 4
Fire-flies are very common in India esp. in dark regions like jungles and farms.12 AM,darkness was prevailing outside and inside as well, train was passing by a region of fire flies that were uncountable and beautiful. It seemed as if they were the stars on ground.Somehow by the wind a pair of fire-fly got inside the compartment, one got dead the moment it was blown inside but the other survived. The light given out by the living one could hardly be ignored. That particular fly was totally insignificant till it was in lost in millions but once into the compartment it was one in a million. It is not about how you shine but probably it is about how you survive to shine at the best place meant for you.

GIRL OF NINE..!!

Once upon a time,
I was girl of nine.
Used to laugh aloud and feel like flying,
far in the clouds that were so ghastly wide.

once upon a time,
the days were divine.
Happiness passed my way irrespective of the time,
flooded with the vibes of being a parin.

Once upon a time,
rains were the shower of mine.
Flowers were the jewels brightest in the line,
sang so aloud, depicting merry all the time.

Today a decade has passed,
beautiful showers never the less have failed to quench the thirst.
jewels are devised by their lust,
Here I surprise in a sudden despise of my choice.

Yes I smile only for a reason,
seldom I laugh because sooner or later laughter are tears origin.
In this time people have passed and stayed,
passed ones are better than those who failed to stay but never looked at me less then a way.

TRULY SOMEWHERE IN THE HEART OF MINE I MISS THAT ME OF NINE...:)

LAST EVE OF THE YEAR...

the party is over and i am lost,
don't know where, don't know for what.
love, life and legion are despite the communal crowd.

here is the most awaited time,
something that is awesome and promises cheer.
near and dear one's are here to wish other a very happy NEW YEAR.

everyone around is blissfully insatiate.
i wonder why am i going to accumulate,
things besides this happy date.

faces are amicable but don't drag me amongst them,
i am complete but not so clear.
like a ray lost in mist around, sound yet astound.

don't know for what there is such a fear,
that i am strangely looking for a reason of being here.
all i know is just that i am badly lost.

YEAH HERE IS AN ANOTHER YEAR,A NEW FEAR!!

FOUR SIGNIFICANT DAYS AT THE FOUR HOUSES

"SIRSIYA" is a block division in the giridih district of small yet well heeled state jharkhand. All the family members were adequately suited up there in my maternal grand parents house, that being the prime or 1st of THE FOUR HOUSES.

To cut the long story short basically the four houses formed neighbourhood.MAIN- ROAD divided the four houses in an equal ratio to its both sides. There were few more landmarks like block office, vegetable seller and a sweet shop, all of them not being under our concern except THE SWEET-SHOP namely "trinetra mishthan bhandar"(named after lord shiva) that was located at a moderate distance from the four houses.

"DAY ONE"

The purpose of our being in sirsiya was to attend the 13 days scheduled funeral ceremony of my grandfather LATE SHRI GOPAL PRASAD.On second day of the interment, rituals to let holy soul's way to heaven started and "in second of the four houses" that was situated across the main road girl of the house was "GETTING ENGAGED".Hence in the sweet-shop variety of sweets were being prepared for the engagement ceremony and the same also supplied edibles and tea to our house when called for.
"DAY TWO"

On the seventh day of the obsequies it was believed that the soul should be provided  with vedic chants and holy songs. Therefore, the local pandits and folk singers were invited at our house and as we ordered snacks for them it took a bit longer than usual to arrive .On enquiring the reason of delay ,sweet shop owner told us that the entire staff was busy preparing lunch for guests attending "THE GRIH-PRAVESH " in house across the road("i.e third of the four houses").
"After an hour loudspeakers fitted on the both side of road, clearly reported clashes of mythological hymns wherein one was aimed for a peaceful start and another for a peaceful end".

"DAY THREE"

Then approached the tenth day when the male members of the house were supposed to "give off their hair" in the name of dead.By evening time when we returned from a nearby stream after day's business, loud "SHEHNAIS" were echoing from  the neighbourhood. The girl who got engaged about a week ago was getting married today.
Instrument was 'ironic' that day as by the same tune it had distinct expressions for two houses..
"joy was being expressed for one side and another was witnessing breakthrough from mystic silence."

"DAY FOUR"
Finally last day i.e 13th arrived, according to "dharm shastras" soul is departed from mortal's world on this very day. There were visitors sympathising the family members and in the mean time on the main-road there were gaiety processions taking goddess saraswati's idol for "VISARJAN".It was an end of sequential events, both seemed ending up i.e the puja and the funeral ceremony, only difference being was that "one was meant for a next awaited welcome and another for an absolute end".
Just as the visitors left we got a news that there was a "BABY BORN" in the house next to our's that was the "FOURTH HOUSE" indeed.

Sometimes in life the entire arena of our existence is presented in a very discursive manner that it can shoot five of our senses upright.
"BIRTH,UNITY OF THE TWO,SETTLEMENT AND DEATH" are an invariable segments of the course of life that are prevailing since we are and will be prevalent. Those designated four days at "the four houses" probably acknowledged the ultimate truth or were a mere intrusion in our day to day life.
**THINGS ARE BASICALLY MEANT,THE WAY WE TAKE IT**

I CRIED AGAIN...

ohh i cried gain!!
yesterday i thought the reason behind my tears..
is in a gleaming dream certainly wherein..
lest the fear of sin!!

again it is the time,
used to be just a year back.
smiling, loving and promising to wipe all the tears insane,
ohh i cried again as it was all in vain!!

yes i promised myself that i will not hurt ME any more,
sooner i'll destroy the pain from the core,
and keep the latter secure.
though my heart sores to agony bestowed,
that seems like it has been borrowed.
but i am helpless dear,
love for you was over pain and fear!!

ohh i cried again,
but certainly wish willingly
a day will fall, even you will feel the same,
and you will regret this very aspect.

NOSTALGIA

It calls for me wherever i am.
near or far,
Trapped in the crowd amidst or wandering blissfully around...
Immaterial of the distance ,
I can hear well when it calls for me in need,
As this is my place indeed..!

The place which nurtured me like soil for root,
walking on its streets barefoot still makes me feel so good.
After half a score i am back in the cozy surrounding again,
Grinning warmly as the time has swung back with a sweet disdain...

The old bunyan tree stands the same way,
it was before a time stay.
and memories around its shady gloom are on full bloom,
The sweet essence of moist air, makes me recall every cheer,
when my naut was oon top gears,
making pals of mine envy of its flair.

Desserted is the "small park" of town,
broken swings and damaged see-saws.
once upon a time they fantasized kids of being upon a horse back or flying like a bird in the clouds.
Look here i was so deeply lost in the ambience of this place divine,
didn't even realise when i tasted a drop of brine.

Day has passed off and dusk has arrived,
dangling of prayer bells are on high in the "mountain temple" beside the river parin.
the river is sullen and deep,
anxious to reach its saline destiny without a leap.
so is the life of mortals indeed..each passes across different phase in so many ways,
but end up finally in the same place..
leaving to wail alone those....whom they once did find close.
